THE LARGER PROJECT

This page is going to introduce you to Ted's larger project that he is working on with the Edmonton Food Bank.  Ted Flower has over the past 10+ years, been working on a collection of extraordinarily large ball point pen drawings of city skylines.  The dimensions of these works is mentioned in the introduction on the home page.  However, sometimes pictures speak loader than words.

As you can see, these pictures are not your run of the mill drawings.  These are true masterpieces that took hundreds of hours finish.

here you can see the artist (Ted Flower) working on his first successful attempt on a piece this size.  This skyline of Edmonton took Ted years to complete and was first shown to the public in the 2009 Whyte Ave Art Walk.

This a picture taken of the Toronto night skyline that Ted did after he finished doing one of the Calgary skyline.  This picture clearly shows the detail that Ted puts into all the pictures he does.

The previous three pictures are of the recent appraisal done for the Edmonton Food Bank for the last big picture Ted has finished.  Ted did this one to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday.  When he was finished drawing this one he contacted the Food Bank to let them know what he hoped to accomplish with this project and started working with them.  The proceeds from this part of Teds plan will be split 75% to the food bank and 25% to the artist, with the Food Bank getting 100% of the intellectual rights to the work.

As this part of the program proceeds, we will keeping our fans updated on the work being done.  As well, we hope to keep you all updated on how much this part of the project is helping out the Edmonton Food Bank. So keep coming back to see what's new and what project is next on Teds list.

Ted's picture "Canadian Pride" was unveiled at the Edmonton International Airport in May and is  going to be in Calgary for July.  Then it's heading to Ottawa for the Grey Cup and one other event there before returning to Edmonton in January.  Then it will be hung where the unveiling took place, at the international gate where people coming into Canada will be able to enjoy it.  So far it has raised at least $10000 in cash donations and another $5000 - $10000 in donations to cover the costs of framing, hanging and displaying the art.  It is our hope that thousands more will be raised to help those who rely on the food banks.
